July 2021 until further notice - Self Registration Process

TO ALL MEMBERS,

ALL MEMBERS AND GUESTS MUST REGISTER BEFORE PLAYING THEIR ROUND.

First and foremost TMGC are required by the ORC to keep a log of all members and guests that play our golf course - the ORC have to supply Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council with annual usage stats so that we can prove the facility is still worthy of Council funding. We do not operate a booking system so our only method of doing this is by self registration forms.

Furthermore whilst track and trace is still in place for our facility there is that added need.

  • The daily ‘self-registration’ sheets will be kept on the table just inside the clubhouse door with the sanitiser and wipes (you should all be aware of the door entry code)
  • Please use the daily sheets to sign in and include the names of all the members playing in your group
  • We have / will be adding further details - Male/Female/Junior so please tick the relevant box when the forms request this.
  • Please ensure all guests are also signed in and that their £5 green fees put in the completed envelopes provided and deposited in the letterbox. Guests must display their bag tags at all times
  • IF any member who has played TMGC is unfortunate enough to contract Covid-19 they should immediately inform the club as soon as possible and self-isolate in line with government guidelines.
  • If you are playing and do notice non-members playing the course please ask them politely to leave and explain why but do invite them to join our club by contacting Emma Scoggins.

Thank you all for your co-operation and support. Happy Golfing one and all !

21st March 2020 - Course Update / Monthly Competitions / Coronavirus

Our decisions right now are not being taken lightly – it is important that we do our utmost to protect the state and quality of our golf course and the safety of our members.

Course Update

Town Meadow Golf Course remains temporarily closed – with a prolonged period of dry weather now forecast we are really hopeful that we can advise all members that our course will fully reopen very soon. When that decision is made we will update the website accordingly AND send a notification e-mail to all members.

Monthly Competitons

With immediate effect, and due to government guidelines on the Coronavirus (social distancing), and the amount of people who attend these events, we have decided that the monthly club competitions will be suspended until further notice.

Coronavirus

At this stage, and unless you are classed as being part of an ‘at risk’ group, the Government are not preventing us from venturing outdoors for some fresh air and exercise. Golf provides a great opportunity to do this provided that you observe the social distancing guidelines below for your own safety and the safety of others.

If you do decide to play golf at Town Meadow it is of course at your own discretion and risk. However, we request that all players observe the following guidelines, adopted by many local clubs in the area:

  • You may decide that playing alone or in pairs as a maximum reduces your risk of infection –  3 and 4 balls are discouraged.
  • Please keep a distance of at least 2 metres from your playing partner/s AT ALL TIMES.
  • Do not shake hands or hug each other.
  • Avoid group gatherings on tee boxes. Wait a distance away until those playing have cleared. If there is a queue on the 1st tee then wait by the Clubhouse or start on a different hole.
  • Do not use bunker rakes or play out of bunkers – treat as Ground Under Repair and remove your ball to the fairway without penalty.
  • Do not touch or remove flagstick - you must play with the flags in at all times to reduce possible cross-contamination.
  • Do not putt out, ideally agree ‘gimmees’ – if you do decide to putt out - do not gather around the hole/flagstick let the player putt out and remove their own ball.
  • Do not pick up somebody else’s ball.
  • Do not share equipment with others – clubs, gloves, range finders etc.
  • Do not swap score cards for marking.
  • Do not use the ball washers on the course.
  • Play wearing gloves if possible.
  • If you go into the clubhouse please wash your hands immediately and thoroughly – we will try to get some hand sanitiser in place BUT this is proving difficult to source at present so please bring your own if you have any.
  • Do not touch your face and use a tissue or your arm for coughs and sneezes.

We will be constantly monitoring the situation and the safety guidelines issued by government regards Coronavirus and will update the clubs position accordingly.

2nd March 2020 - Course Closure

Please be advised that until further notice Town Meadow Golf Course is closed.

This decision has not been taken lightly, but due to the course being water logged and saturated it is felt the most appropriate decision to protect it from further damage.

We will be constantly monitoring the situation and will advise members once the course is reopened.

We hope you understand and ask for your assistance in adhering to the closure and advising others who may not be aware.

Thank you.
